Salary: $60,000 - 80,000 per year Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in a related field; equivalent experience may be considered. The posting also lists a bachelors degree as required.
- At least three years of experience in data analysis, reporting, database management, business intelligence, program evaluation, technology support, or related work; the posting separately lists two years of data analytics experience as required.
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency and experience creating reports, dashboards, and data visualizations.
- Knowledge of database design, data management, and data quality practices, with the ability to write and troubleshoot complex queries.
- Strong organization and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a collaborative setting.
- Ability to explain technical concepts in practical terms to nontechnical audiences.
- Commitment to confidentiality, data integrity, and ethical data practices; curiosity and adaptability when exploring new approaches.
- Preferred: Experience with HMIS, ClientTrack, or similar case management systems, and with nonprofit, human services, healthcare, or government-funded organizations.
- Preferred: Experience with Power BI, DAX, SQL, Python, Microsoft Power Platform, SharePoint, Copilot, or comparable business intelligence and automation tools.
- Preferred: Familiarity with AI, workflow automation, technology implementation, HUD and Continuum of Care reporting, homeless services, program evaluation, compliance monitoring, performance management, and organizational learning.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, virtually, and in writing; occasionally lift or move materials weighing up to 15 pounds.
Responsibilities: - Serve as our primary HMIS liaison and subject matter expert, and work with program managers, supervisors, and frontline staff to support accurate, consistent data collection.
- Monitor data quality, conduct audits, identify and coordinate corrections, and maintain quality assurance processes.
- Train and support HMIS users across our organization, and develop procedures, documentation, and training materials.
- Troubleshoot data collection, reporting, dashboard, and system issues, and help ensure compliance with HUD, HMIS, Coalition for the Homeless, City of Houston, and funder requirements.
- Coordinate with external partners, including the Coalition for the Homeless and other community stakeholders.
- Create and run complex data queries, analyses, and reports that support operations, compliance, program evaluation, funding needs, and strategic initiatives.
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc reports, including data quality, Continuum of Care, EVA, housing metrics, KPI, and other funder-required reports.
- Develop, maintain, and improve Power BI dashboards, reporting tools, data models, and data pipelines.
- Advance reporting automation and process improvements to increase efficiency and access to data.
- Analyze trends, outcomes, utilization, and performance indicators, and present findings clearly and in an actionable format.
- Support continuous quality improvement, program evaluations, annual reports, grant applications, and funder communications.
- Advise our organization on data systems, reporting technologies, automation tools, and emerging technology solutions.
- Support AI, business process improvement, workflow automation, and technology adoption initiatives; research and recommend solutions that improve efficiency, reporting, user experience, and organizational effectiveness.
- Collaborate across departments to identify ways data and technology can strengthen operations and service delivery, and provide technical guidance to leadership and staff.
